Pastor Michael H.L. Roberson,Sr

Reverend Michael H.L. Roberson Sr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Mr. Alex and Christine Roberson. He is a 1984 graduate of Waycross High School, in Waycross, Georgia.

 

Reverend Roberson received his call to preach the gospel of good news in 1999.  He has completed courses of study in Sociology, Psychology and Religion. He continues to pursue an education in Theology and Divinity.  

 

Reverend Roberson is currently the Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsland Georgia, where he has served since 2004. He also serves as President of the Zion Missionary Baptist Union, which is comprised of churches in Camden and Charlton counties. He has served as interim Pastor of Young Zion Missionary Baptist Church in St Marys Georgia and Associated Minister of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Woodbine, Georgia prior to being called to serve as pastor of St John. He is an active member of the Zion Association, and the Georgia State Convention.   He has been the keynote speaker for churches and civic groups in several states along the eastern coast of the United States.

 

Reverend Roberson served honorably in the United States Navy where he retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer after completing 25 years of faithful and honorable service. He served on the USS Dubuque LPD 8, USS Ranger CV 61, USS Albany SSN 753, USS Seawolf SSN 21, USS Tennessee SSBN 734, and USS West Virginia SSBN 736. He also completed shore tours at NRD Harrisburg, PA, Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay, and Trident Training Facility Kings Bay. He graduated the Naval Senior Enlisted Academy in 2003 with honors and went on to serve as Chief of the Boat on USS West Virginia SSBN 736 Gold.
